My name is Lyndsey Blythe. I play a melodic percussion instrument called handpan. I use this instrument to provide therapeutic music for patients, as I complete my independent practicum at OHSU Healthcare.

I am trained through the Music for Healing and Transition Program, nationally accredited by the National Standards Board for Therapeutic Musicians.

Healing through music?

By playing one-on-one to meet the needs of the patient in the moment with compassionate presence, Using the intrinsic qualities of music to create a supportive environment, and bringing all parts of the self into balance, healing is possible through therapeutic music!

Define "healing"

Healing is not to be confused with curing.

When the emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual parts of self are brought together in wholeness, healing is able to take effect.
